I found silverfish in the basement today. When you touch a piece of bleached paper (such as one square of toilet paper) to the topside of the silverfish, the silverfish explodes and leaves a puff of grey dust in the air. Just touch the corner of the paper to the silverfish.
If you have a silverfish crawling on your bicycle, let it be. The silverfish will flock to the part under the seat where the springs are.
